The Vocoret family estate was first established in 1707, initially only growing the grapes on their 26 hectares of prime vineyards. Laurent Vocoret is the sixth generation in charge, while his father was the first to make and estate-bottle the wines, pioneering stuff in those days. The property comprises mostly 40-year-old vineyards, all around the village of Maligny, where the cellar is based. Careful work in the vineyard and the cellar, with a slow settle of the wine on its fine lees and a malolactic fermentation taking place in barrel, ensures a richer, rounder style of Chablis. Journalist Charles Taylor described the wine as "rich and generous, with a lovely succulent texture." Serve cellar cool with fine dining. Will cellar well.
